Ruby Tin will be performing the Gu-Zheng, an ancient Chinese musical instrument that also gained popularity in Japan as the Koto. This 25-string instrument is well-loved for its soothing harp-like effects and characteristic wave-like string vibrations. Ruby has taught the Gu-Zheng at the Chinese Multicultural Centre and is the first teacher to write Gu-Zheng teaching materials in English for children and adults. She has rearranged popular western music as well as Chinese folk tunes in Gu-Zheng music in her books. She will be performing with one of her students.
