Hiromi Goto

[Thumbnail] Hiromi was born in 1966 in Chiba-ken, Japan, and immigrated to Canada at the age of three with her family. After a short time on the West Coast, they moved to southern Alberta. Hiromi graduated with a BA degree in English from the University of Calgary in 1989. She lives in Calgary, where she is a working member of the Women of Colour Collective of Calgary, a creative writing facilitator, and mother of two children. Her first book Chorus of Mushrooms was the 1995 regional winner of the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book, and the 1995 co-winner of the Japan-Canada Book Award.
